Dear TIGC Member,
The Championship Golf Course opened today! Welcome to the 2023 TIGC Golf Season!
TIGC now has a website (tigc.golf) where you can make reservations for our social events, golfing events (tournaments and open tee times) and read news and obtain other club information. Our news section includes a new member profile about Paul Frankel. Welcome to the club, Paul. Also, during the winter Mike Keefe, a treasured and memorable TIGC member, died. You can read more about Mike and his positive impact on TIGC and so many people in the news section, too.
The TIGC Board of Directors has planned an expanded range of mid-week golf tournaments, open tee times and some special events, including the Member-Member Tournament in June and our premier Member-Guest Invitational Golf Tournament in August. Two new special summer evening golf tournaments that tee off at 5:30 pm offer new dimensions of fun for our members. Thanks to each member of your Board of Directors for their work to prepare for the season and all of their future work in arranging our activities.
The TIGC golf season could not be planned without the extra help of Director of Golf Darren Howard, Senior Head Pro Nick Holligan, Assistant Head Pro Rob Bruce, Merchandise Manager Greg Merritt and The Chateau's Food & Beverage Coordinator Brooke Smith LaFata. Thanks to each of them.
The record snow this winter brought lots of moisture to our beautiful golf course and delayed opening day. It was just weeks ago that the course was blanketed with feet of snow. Special thanks go to Jeff Clouthier, CGCS, Grounds Superintendent, and his team for their extra efforts to get the golf course ready for play.
The Championship Golf Course was re-rated and changes were made to the slopes and some of the hole handicaps. New golf carts also arrived!
Finally, the Championship Golf Course has new check-in procedures. Attached is an announcement from the pro shop in case you did not receive a copy separately.
Thanks again for being a member of TIGC!
